Puerto Rico, Beautiful Puerto Rico!
PR has so much to offer, it is unfathomable.
From the snorkeling to hiking, beach days to walking the streets of Old San Juan,
there really is something to do for everyone.
Old San Juan (OSJ) is the first place many people visit when traveling to PR,
for obvious reasons.
It is the most historic area within San Juan
and most of Puerto Rico
Fort San Felipe del Morro, designed to guard San Juan Bay,
is one of the most prominent features of OSJ.
When we visited, everything in this area was beautiful,
especially all of the people out enjoying the day, flying kites in the open space.
Also a beautiful part of OSJ are all of the beautiful old buildings.
There are so many vibrant colors,
each building their own,
alongside the quaint cobblestone streets
lined with shopping, restaurants, and the cruise ship docks.
For the best snorkeling, we went to Fajardo,
on the Northeastern corner of PR.
We took a short boat ride out to the areas around Palomino Island
and hopped out of the boat!
It was the most clear, beautiful, blue water,
and I highly recommend it!
Don't forget to grab some drinks to cool down afterwards
at the local Tapas+Bar - La Ola, right in the marina,
complete with their own pool to relax in.
Last, but definitely not least, El Yunque National Forest
(the only rain forest in all of the United States)
is a beautiful, amazing trip.
It was on the way back to San Juan from Fajardo,
so it was a definite must.
But hold on to your seats,
the winding roads up the mountain are not for the faint of heart,
but lined with many different trees, lush vegetation,
and all of the beautiful waterfalls, or cascadas for the natives,
this is a sight you don't want to miss!
I hope everyone enjoyed my mini-tour of Puerto Rico,
and I truly hope some of y'all will come visit me!
