Oh, you're writing a blog...?

I've been thinking about writing a blog for sometime now, but always thought people would think I was egotistical boring. Oh well, here it is. I probably won't be writing a lot until I move to Puerto Rico, so patience will be a virtue -- that is, if you care about what I have to say.

Yes, there are schools here in Texas, but why go to optometry school 60 miles from my hometown when I could go to optometry school on a Caribbean island? Yeah, that's what I thought. 

So July 31, I will be flying out to Puerto Rico, without my family, friends, sorority sisters, and the love of my life -- my chihuahua Pippa. I know, I know, I will be on the beach all the time, not going to school... Well that just wouldn't cut it in optometry school, unfortunately, so studying away in my on-campus apartment is where I will be 90% of the time, if I'm lucky. JK, I'll have some fun with my amigos as well, just not too much fun, right Mom?  

I will miss Texas, Whataburger, Corpus Crusty, saying "Y'all" without receiving death glares, and of course, my amazing, ever-so-supportive family and friends. I will send y'all post cards, though, and please continue following my blog posts, as I will not have much time to stay in contact with everyone, though I will think about y'all everyday.
